Rail Events Productions announces auditions on AUGUST 9 & 10 for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride. All positions PAID. Seeking actors and musical theater performers for this live, interactive theatrical show based on the film by Warner Bros. In addition to talent, we are looking for actors who are team players, enjoy working with kids and who embrace the interaction between themselves and passengers to create a fun, entertaining and heartwarming experience. Character Breakdown:
Conductor: male identified, all ethnicities to play 35-50, charming, outgoing, personable, non-singing
Santa: male identified character actor all ethnicities to play 40+, warm, sincere, full of real joy, non-singing
Hobo: male identified, all ethnicities to play 25-35, high-energy, assertive, gruff, imposing but masks a joyful heart. Light singalong carol singing required.
Ensemble: m/f identified all ethnicities to play 20-35, singer/actors for various roles & duties, outgoing, joy- filled, team players!
Hero Boy: male identified to play 9 to 12 years old, all ethnicities, 5'3" or under, sincere & kind, albeit a bit skeptical, non-singing.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals: (Rehearsals at Dance Center Chicago, 3868 N. Lincoln Ave) Nov. 16-Nov. 20: 3-10 pm, Nov. 21-22: 10am-10pm (Tech rehearsal on train), Nov. 23: Opening Day
Performances: Daily, from Nov. 23, 2019 through Dec. 29, 2019.
(Off Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day)
Although actors will not perform everyday, we are seeking actors with total availability. All performances take place at Union Station in Chicago.
