Performances April 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 & 22 at
Second Baptist Church of Germantown – 6459 Germantown Pike, Philadelphia, PA 19119.
Rehearsals at same venue begin March 3rd. Monday & Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons in March and first week of April. Tech will be evenings - April 9 – 11, invited dress rehearsal April 12.
Stipend will be paid.
Seeking 2 male identifying actors for the roles of:
- Dr. Sigmund Freud, age 83 in play, Jewish exile from Austria, father of psychoanalysis, author of “The Interpretation of Dreams,” currently suffering from oral throat cancer. (Looking for actor age 60 +)
- C.S. Lewis, age 40 in play, World War I veteran, scholar, newly converted to Christian faith, influenced by J.R.R. Tolkien, author of essays on history of English Literature, has not written Chronicles of Narnia yet. (Looking for actor age 30s – 40s)
The play is an imagined conversation between Dr. Sigmund Freud, and C.S. Lewis in the office of Sigmund Freud in London on September 3, 1939, the day England declared war on Germany in World War II. In the midst of BBC broadcasts, air raid sirens, and the reach for gas masks, the two men debate their differing views of the human condition yet find a common humanity as they face the impending crisis.

Saturday, February 10th, beginning at 2pm and Monday, February 12, from 7 – 9 pm.
