Earlie Bird Productions is seeking an actress of color for a staged reading of a new work called V2: Creation Myth.
A sequel of sorts to The Vagina Monologues, V2 continues the conversation of what it is to be a woman in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election, as experienced by a group of professional women. Part memoir, part composite experience culled from interviews and listening sessions, the production cover topics such as sexuality, motherhood, race, assault, aging, work, and more, finally culminating in a new vision of female solidarity and power in America. Actress will perform as part of a chorus of twelve women as well as deliver a traditional (solo) monologue.
Seeking female actors of color, late 20s – early 30s. This is a staged reading—no memorization required. Cast consists of professional women with varying degrees of acting experience. Blocking/movement is minimal.
This is a volunteer gig. Proceeds from the production will benefit Planned Parenthood and the Women’s Community Revitalization Project.
