MadKap Productions presents ANNE THEN SOME, a 10-minute queer rom-com, as part of their 5th Annual Short Play Festival, August 16-18, at Skokie Theatre.

You are raspberry cordially invited to Prince Edward Island, Canada, home of carrot-top-of-the-line literary heroine Anne Shirley and her bosom friend Diana Barry. These kindred spirits have some contemporary company: Vernie and Cori, teenage visitors who meet for the first time while having a field day at Field Day at Green Gables Heritage Place. Is it love at first "site"? Anne and Diana solemnly swear their faithfulness to one another within minutes of meeting. Will Vernie and Cori duplicate their devotion?

Playwright Allison Fradkin and director Caryl Davidson are looking to cast the following roles:

CORI - female-identifying, open ethnicity, 16 (stage age), in terms of personality: a contemporary Anne Shirley

VERNIE - female-identifying, open ethnicity, 16 (stage age), in terms of personality: a contemporary Diana Barry

Auditions will take place Sunday, August 4, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Civic Room of Northbrook Library, located at 1201 Cedar Lane. If possible, please plan on staying the entire time, as you will be reading in pairs and we would like for you to have as many chances to read as possible.

Time Commitment:
Depending on the cast's availability, there will be 4-6 pre-tech rehearsals between August 5 and August 13 at Northbrook Library. A 45-minute tech/dress rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, August 14, at Skokie Theatre, located at 7924 Lincoln Avenue.

Performances will take place Friday, August 16-Sunday, August 18, 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2:00 pm on Sunday, at Skokie Theatre.
