Description:
A hipster dinner party is interrupted by “The Big One” earthquake. The news warns that severe aftershocks will be coming and everyone should remain where they are. Tensions rise as the stress of the situation (and occasional aftershock tremors) unleash everyone’s bottled up demons.

He’s super into his boyfriend but so far up his own ass he doesn’t realize the boyfriend doesn’t feel the same way. He often buys expensive flights or books exotic hotel rooms without first consulting with his boyfriend. This tendency has prevented the boyfriend from breaking up with him sooner. This guy has been comfortable in his sexuality for his whole life and was openly embraced by his parents. He also skipped a lot of the bullying since his family was so wealthy. He basically spent his life buying people’s affection or friendship without even realizing it. His great relationship with his parents really gets under his boyfriends skin but they never talk about it. Probably because his boyfriend realizes how shitty of a thing that is to get upset over. Here’s the crux to this character: for all his arrogant or shitty remarks, he doesn’t really think it affects his boyfriend, like he can’t separate his love for this guy (mostly in bed) from the actual person he’s dating. |

She’s also in great physical shape and enjoys sound baths, hot yoga and sensory deprivation tanks. Many people assume she’s another vapid LA model but she’s actually a self-proclaimed psychonaut. She loves shrooms, acid, DMT and Peyote (which is her favorite). She doesn’t drink alcohol but is constantly micro-dosing. She’s a modern beatnik who prefers Ginsberg to Kerouac (think a female Irving Radovic from Roman Holiday). She’s promiscuous, but not for attention or lack of self-respect. Her pseudo-intellectual philosophy revolves around self-love and our unseen vibrations as humans interacting with each other. For her, every sexual experience is an opportunity to absorb another piece of the human collective. She always tries to play it cool but does not handle rejection very well. Beneath the pseudo- intellectualism and beauty is a person actually seeking purpose. Though she’d never admit it, modelling and tripping haven’t brought her the happiness she seeks. Lately though, she’s tried to fancy herself a “healer”, but without any medical or psychological training. This is how she met the date she brought to the dinner party. |

When he speaks, it’s with a slight Southern twang, not the genteel sort of twang but the redneck kind. He drives a pick-up truck and has a daughter he doesn’t see very often. His Ex-wife has full custody since the guy had a pretty big drinking and anger problem after his years of service. He never went to jail (judge cut him slack for his service), but he lost custody of his daughter. He suffers from PTSD and was actually a somewhat gentle soul before he fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. Suicide girl model has been trying MDMA therapy to help improve his PTSD. They have also been sleeping together but it’s more like a messed up student/teacher dynamic than it is a healthy relationship. He’s a republican who believes in the 2nd amendment and perhaps him and suicide girl have gone to the shooting range together. He’s not willing to publicly express support for Trump and he’s not against gay marriage but inevitably when he speaks, his comments elicit a raised eyebrow from everyone at the table. |
