Family Time is about a mother of two teens and a new baby who's ready to follow her dream of running for office, however the rest of the family is not as supportive as she would like.

Carolyn’s mom wanted to be a role model for her daughter (to over-compensate for her dad not being around) and worked hard to change their lives and Carolyn did the same. By age 25 Carolyn graduated law school but a fool in love just like her mom, married the wrong man within a few months of that and was divorced with 2 kids before her 28 th birthday. It took Carolyn years later to make peace with that time in her life which she describes as dark and abusive. Instead of traditional therapy Carolyn threw her energy into community work with a special interest in women and children. She met Durrel through friends in the community and fell hard because he was so damn cute and charming and made a mean pumpkin pie. She fell pregnant before they married… Needless to say, Carolyn’s biggest passion is her work with women and children and biggest flaw is the type of men she falls in love with! |

Durrel comes off as an all-around great guy but beneath his exuberant exterior is a man who is both ambitious and driven. Durrel has strived his entire to life to be a success. He was raised by both parents in a lower middle-class household studying hard throughout school and college. After college he worked his way up starting as an apprentice chef, so when his opportunity to finally open his own restaurant passes him by Durrel is pissed. He loves his wife and kids (even though 2 of them are not his biologically) and wants to be a supportive husband but practicing patience is not his strong suit. If Durrel is honest with himself being a stay-at-home dad makes him feel like a failure so while he tries to use his vlog as a lifeline, his true feelings are revealed every time he’s confronted with his stalled dreams or his wife’s success. These feelings whether on the surface or hidden govern an envious/ controlling behavior that in the end, compromises his wife career and ultimately their marriage. |
| Dana | Female | African American | 14-16 | Fifteen and street smart but not book smart despite her mom drumming into her the importance of education and moving into a better neighborhood for the good neighborhood school. Instead Dana is more invested in her social group than her school education and will stop at nothing to be popular no matter who is caught in the crossfire or how much her mom tries to fortify her self-esteem. In particular, Dana is at the beck and call of social media which has the power to lift her mood or bring her crashing down. Carolyn is her mom, Durrel her step-dad and Chad her older brother. |

He is the kid that doesn’t have to work hard at anything but always gets the girl or makes the team or gets the grade. Invariably, this has caused Chad to take risks in his life not just testing boundaries but also to change gears a bit and inject some adrenalin in his life. Chad is older sibling to Dana and Carolyn’s first born from her first marriage. |

His favorite game is a car racing one in which he holds the championship and he enjoys his online friendship with Chad because gaming is their 'happy place’ it’s where they get to escape reality for a while. |
