Description:
Prize is a proof of concept short prequel to a feature film. This short follows Brin, a guy suffering from the trauma of panic attacks about starting a family derived from a traumatic event he experienced in his childhood home. We catch up with Brin 15 years into the present, one month before he takes a fateful train.
Breakdown:
Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
BRIN | Male | African American | 23-27 | a newly college graduate unsure about his current relationship and where his life is headed post college graduation. Brin lives most of his life in his head and is on a life-long journey to stop agonizing over unwanted thoughts and will stop at nothing to finding his cure of over-thinking. |
Adrienne | Female | African American | 21-24 | also a newly college graduate, is completely head over heels in love with her Brin her prince charming but unfortunately is more in love with the idea of being in love especially as it relates to a stereotypical Disney fantasy. |
Joey | Male | African American | 21-24 | is Brin’s best friend, roommate, comic relief, and more importantly Brin’s voice of reason. He knows Brin, better than Brin’s knows himself and occasionally helps Brin wade through the troubled “waters of life” by providing him clarity through expert advice. |
Josh | Male | Caucasian | 21-24 | Brin’s college colleague. He’s laid back, carefree and dreams of living in a world where he can surf 24/7. Josh has a special affinity for Brin. He’s aware of how superiorly talented he is, more than he could ever be and wants to see Brin win by any means necessary. |
Tracy | Female | Caucasian | 40-50 | the Head of Nikon’s division for finding new untaped talent, a position she fought like hell to create and won’t see it be destroyed by selecting unworthy candidates. She’s super cautious with her selection process therefore she makes perspective contestants prove their “want” by showing how far they’re willing to go for a seat at her proverbial “table.” |
Cody | Male | Caucasian | 21-24 | Tracy’s millennial nephew; a product of her half-sister’s second marriage that doesn’t value the position he’s in nor does he realize the strings his mother had to pull to get him a job with his aunt. He takes his role for granted at every turn. |
Diane | Female | Any | 21-24 | Joey’s classmate and young adult searching for herself. A product of the old adage – Men go to college to find jobs; women go to college to find husbands. She’s uninterested by digital media platforms or meeting guys on social sites. She prefers traditional methods like meeting potential candidates at school, work, and definitely intimate social settings. |
