Description:
The Elgin Theatre Company is pleased to announce auditions for its production of An Elgin Old Tyme Holiday Radio Show 3. This production will be the first production of ETC's 2019-2020 season. It will be directed by Brian Scholz.
Dates/Times:
An Elgin Old Tyme Holiday Radio Show 3 auditions will be held on Sunday September 29, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday September 30, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No appointment is needed. Possible callbacks, you will be notified, will be held on Wednesday October 2, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Location:
Auditions will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 216 E Highland Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.
Synopsis:
An Elgin Old Tyme Holiday Radio Show 3 will consist of three old time radio scripts. They are:
-Fibber McGee and Molly Show - "Best Christmas Decorations" from 1949.
-The Jack Benny Christmas Show -"Christmas in New York 1928".
-Our Miss Brooks -"The Magic Christmas Tree".
Ages of Characters:
The ages of the characters, both males and females, range from 16 to 70.
NOTE: Actors will be asked to help however they can with costumes, props, and set pieces.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will be held as follows:
Read thru will be on Thursday October 3, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Rehearsals: Most rehearsals will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in October and early November.
Tech rehearsals: - TBD
Pick Up rehearsals: - TBD
Most rehearsals will be at First United Methodist Church of Elgin, 216 Highland Ave., Elgin, IL. 60120. Tech rehearsals will be held at the Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division St., 8th floor, Elgin, Il. 60120.
Performances of An Elgin Old Tyme Holiday Radio Show 3 will be held on November 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24, 2019. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday performances start at 2:00 p.m.
Performances will be held at the Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division St., 8th floor, Elgin, Il. 60120.
Material To Prepare:
Be prepared to present a 1 minute comic monologue.
Be prepared to stay for cold readings of the script until dismissed.
Bring all scheduling conflicts.
Bring a copy of your resume if you have one.
