The Kirk Players announce open auditions for "A Women's Influence" by Gertrude Jennings on Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23 from 7-9:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake St. in Mundelein, IL. There are four female roles and one male role.
This is a one-act play that is part of a special "Votes For Women Celebration" celebrating the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote. Actors must be available to perform during the evenings and weekends from January 25-February 2, 2020. The event is to be held at various locations in the Mundelein area.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS (ages flexible)
Herbert Lawrence-Married to Margaret, "man's man", not sure if women belong in politics.
Margaret Lawrence-Deep-sighted and wise, trying to improve conditions for women working in factories.
Miss Carrie Thicket-Very direct, passionate friend of Margaret's, trying to improve conditions for women working in factories.
Miss Aline Perry- Uses her "womanliness" to try to move their cause. Fakes tears, etc.
Mary Ball-indigent woman badly afflicted by the bad conditions of the factory workers
