SAVANNAH SIMS | Female | African American | 19-23 | Savannah is a native of Atlanta, GA. She is an only child of Bishop Delmar Sims and the late Mrs. Dianna Sims. At 7-months-old, Savannah lost her mother, making her bond with her father unbreakable. She began dancing at the age of 4 after learning about her mother’s passion for dance. Since then, Savannah has trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and classical. After high school, she was accepted into Juilliard but decided to stay in Atlanta to be close to her dad. After declining her offer to Juilliard, she began teaching dance at a local community center. She also dances at the church that her dad pastors. Her natural talent and passion for dance command the attention of anyone who watches her. |
DELMAR SIMS | Male | African American | 40-50 | Bishop Delmar Sims is a native of Detroit, MI. He moved to Atlanta, GA at the age of 15 with his parents and older sister. After moving to Atlanta, Delmar quickly got involved with a bad crowd. He began dealing drugs and was sent to a juvenile detention center just one month before his 17th birthday. After spending six months in a juvenile center, Delmar was sent to live with his grandfather, who was a pastor in Houston, TX. At the age of 23, he returned to Atlanta, where he would meet his future wife, Dianna. Shortly after relocating back to Atlanta, Delmar picked up a job at a car wash, where he meets Ernest Duvall, one of the top narcotic kingpins in the state. It doesn't take long for Delmar to fall back into his former misguided habits. Delmar would spend the next few years dealing drugs and dodging close run-ins with law enforcement. At 26, Delmar married Dianna and would birth Savannah at 28. Seven months after Savannah is born, Delmar becomes a widow. Realizing that he's the only person left for Savannah to depend on, Delmar cleans up his act. He holds a steady job for a few years and eventually finds his way back to God and religion. He begins pastoring at the age of 34. At 48, Delmar's life would be changed forever when it learns that he's living with cancer. Delmar began receiving treatment, but wanted to be sure that Savannah would be financially stable should his health take a turn for the worst. This leads him back to selling drugs-- this time, through the church. |
