Project Title | The Hilary Duff Project |
Description:
Cat McGee is holding auditions for the workshop production of The Hilary Duff Project.
We open on a young starlet and end on the Hilary we know and love today- a driven mother who is still working in the industry that tried to chew her up and spit her out of the Disney machine. You'll hear your favorite Disney Channel Start jams, see wacky versions of popular early-2000s heartthrobs, and shudder at some verbatim YouTube comments, that yes, real people left on Hilary Duff's videos. This production celebrates nostalgia and female empowerment through tongue-in-cheek humor and a whole lot of heart!
Character Type/Restrictions:
This is an ensemble production. Actors will play either a Narrator or a Hilary representative of a different stage in Hilary Duff's life throughout the production. All actors will play multiple roles. We are seeking one actor who can play piano. Most importantly, we are looking for quick-witted actors who love early 00's nostalgia and are comfortable with simple interpretive choreography.
Time Commitment:
1st Rehearsal: Monday January 6th, 2020
Tech/Dress: Week of January 26th (exact date TBD)
Opening: Friday January 31st-February 1st, 2020
Closing: Saturday February 8th, 2020
Material To Prepare:
Along with sides we ask that you choose a clip (provided) and create a 30-second dance that embodies the nostalgia of the early 2000s. Feel free to leave room for improvisation and self-expression! Think best friends choreographing on a Friday night, to perform for themselves in the mirror or a concert in the living room for the 'rents, etc.
