Moving Bench Theatre is holding auditions for their condensed 55-min. production of A Christmas Carol that will be performed at multiple Chicago Public Libraries from Dec. 15-19.

This production is a way of giving back to the community and will be performed with no charge to the audience or the Libraries. The production staff and cast will be made up entirely of volunteers looking to spread some holiday cheer through the art of storytelling. Our objective with this project is to make sure everyone is able to enjoy this special Holiday tradition."

This condensed 55 minute performance is perfect for all ages. It celebrates the story we all know and love while adding humor and ingenuity resulting in a delightful experience for the entire family!

A small ensemble will portray over 35 characters through the use of hats, costume pieces, props, music, and dancing. The audience will be transported through time and space with the use of only benches, chairs, and fabrics that will come in with the performers and leave directly following the performance.

Auditions will be held at About Face Theatre 5252 N Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640

Rehearsals are Nov 18-Dec 14.

Performances are 6pm on weekday evenings, 3pm on Sunday, Dec 15.

Material To Prepare:
Auditions will consist of reading sides and singing a short holiday themed song.
