Short Shakespeare! The Comedy of Errors. Direcotr: Eli Newell, based on production originally directed and adapted by David H. Bell.
SEEKING ACTORS OF ALL DIVERSITIES FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES.
DROMIO OF SYRACUSE. AEA or NON. Male-identified. 20s to early 30s. 5'5" to 5'7". Slim to medium build. Twin to Dromio of Ephesus. An abused servant. Requires comic actor with great physical agility and stamina. Must be able to climb a rope.
EGEON/DR PINCH/LUCE. AEA. Male-identified. Mid-30s to 50s. Comic actor who can play a variety of roles, from ship-wrecked father searching for his son, to an over-sexed kitchen wench, to a lunatic doctor. Must be physically fit and a wonderful storyteller. Skill in verse important. Diversity strongly encouraged for this role.
Actors need to take into consideration these are primarily performances for student audiences, and should be interested in this kind of educational work and serving these audiences.
Pay: TYA (non-AEA $500/wk; AEA $650/wk as well as health and pension

First Performance: 1/28/20
Closing: 3/13/20
Please Note: From 1/28/20 to 2/29/20, the production plays nine or ten shows per week in The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare, including an 11 am Saturday public performance. All day-time performances. From 3/2/20 to 3/13/20, actors are transported to area schools, one show per day, Monday through Friday.
