Habakkuk Theatre is holding auditions for it's production of FALLING by Deanna Jent, directed by Lisa Dawn.
Auditions will be held by appointment on Monday, Nov 25th 4:30p-8:30p and Tuesday, Nov 26th 6:30p-8:30p.

FALLING boldly explores the dynamic and complicated reality of a family with an autistic son. When a relative comes to visit, the entire family is thrown out of equilibrium as everyone tries to balance what is best for the family and what is best for themselves. The play speaks bravely about love and family as it asks "How do you love someone who is difficult to love?".
Casting:
Joshua- (18) he, him, his
with severe autism. He is large and strong. Limited verbal/communication skills. Wide range of spontaneous emotion.
Lawrence- Caseworker for the Department of Child and Family Services. (played by the same actor as Joshua)
Lisa- (16) she, her, hers
Wants to be a typical girl in a typical home. Isn't and is frustrated by that.
Bill (40s)- he, him, his
Josh's father. Tries to relieve stress by making jokes. Longs for intimacy with his wife.
Grammy Sue (60s)- she, her, hers
Bill's Mother. She brings with her the hope that her sincere Christian faith can intervene to help everyone in the family. In a "boot" because she has broken two of her toes.
Tami (40s)-Mother

Time Commitment:
The production will run April 9-26, 2020 with performances Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings (8P) and a matinee on Sundays (3p).
The production will take place at the Open Door Theater. 902 S Ridgeland Ave, Oak Park.
Rehearsals will begin March 2 and are typically Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7p-10p Saturday and Sundays 1p-4p
Pending actor availability there may be some weekday, daytime rehearsals in lieu of weekday evenings.
Rehearsals will take place in the Oak Park/River Forest area.
A read thru will be scheduled in December based on artist availability.
Material To Prepare:
If you are invited to audition, we would like to see a contemporary monologue not to exceed 90 seconds and the sides which we will send you based on character selection.
We ask that you bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume.
