THE MIRACLE CENTER's Adult Theatre Ensemble announces auditions for Production of MARTINA, A Puerto Rican Folktale, retold by Roberto Juan Negron.

Directed by Roberto & Griselda Negron.

"Martina, A Puerto Rican Folktale" is a colorful and comedic cultural story centered around the most beautiful cockroach in Puerto Rico, Martina. On her way to finding love, Martina discovers the importance of embracing her uniqueness, that a person's heart is more important than their appearance and that her Abuela's (Grandmother's) advice is always something she can trust in.

SEEKING ACTORS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

-MARTINA (Cucaracha) Female: A young effervescent, happy character with a witty sense of humor.

-ABUELA (Cucaracha) Female: To the point, with a warm, charming and very grandmotherly character.

-TIA PELUCA (Cucaracha) Female: An ostentatious, flamboyant character. Full of fire and spunk!

-Lolita: (Cucaracha) Female: An elegant,fun filled, super sweet Salsera with salsa!

-Lobo (Wolf) Male: A dashing, pompous and quite eccentric character with a dash of humor!

-LAGARTO (Lizard) Male: A sly, fast talking street-wise character. Senor suave with a bite!

-CERDO (Pig) Male: Demanding demeanor with a stinkin attitude! Fo!

-PEREZ (Mouse) Male: -The sweetest, most cutest, most adorable, most noblest character. 100% corazon!

-Papa (Cucaracha) Male - Older soft spoken with a warm heart.

-Coco: (Cucaracha) Female - Sassy firebrand

Auditions will be recorded for viewing by director and choreographer.

Material To Prepare:
Please bring a headshot and resume
(9x11 photo of your face with a list of shows you have been in), If you do not have a hardcopy you can email a digital picture.

Please prepare a 90 second package consisting of a 60 second contemporary monologue and a 30 second 16 bar cut of a song. You may play your own accompaniment on your cell phone, or a cappella is acceptable.

Please make sure you are wearing clothing and shoes you can move in for the dance call.
