Description:
Promethean Theatre Ensemble is seeking trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming actors for the role of Slim in the world premiere of A Town Called Progress, written by Trina Kakacek and directed by Anna Bahow.
In A Town Called Progress, Ida and Vivian want to create a simple utopia, without the bother of those pesky male types. Then Slim and Weed show up. Water gets pulled from air, a rabbit talks philosophy, stories get told and retold in this magical, funny, moving play about gender, economics, and the myth of having it all.
Seeking:
Trans, non-binary and gender nonconforming actors for Slim (30s), a woman who lives life as a man. She is assumed to be male by the rest of the characters in the play until she reveals her origin story. A gentle-and-tough cowboy looking for her truth.
We will also be seeing cisgender actors for the role but are not accepting resumes from cisgendered actors at this time.
There is a stipend of $100.
