Casting a short piece in the show, "Punching LaBute."
Punching LaBute is a one night show of monologues, scenes, and readings that respond to Neil LaBute's problematic work and toxic masculinity as whole. It will be a powerful night celebrating and performing femme work, a metaphorical punch to the patriarchy. It will be on December 9th, 2019 in Chicago, IL at 7:30pm at the Lincoln Loft.
We are seeking two womxn for this piece, one who is plus sized. Both actresses will portray the same character at different points in her life. It ends with the character celebrating her size and gender identity while challenging the LaButes of the world. We are looking for actresses that connect with the piece.
There will be no pay. There are no formal tickets, but any donations will be sent to Connections for Abused Women and their Children (they provide services to domestic violence survivors and their children including shelter, counseling, and legal advocacy).
