Project Title | Play(s) At Home: A Green Theatre Festival |
Description:
Connective Theatre Company is thrilled to announce our second virtual play festival, Play(s) At Home: A Green Theatre Festival. In this time of isolation and quarantine, CTC hopes to inspire, motivate, and connect people from across the world through a virtual reading of various short plays. Participants/entrants are encouraged to submit short scenes/sketches/plays exploring themes of nature and the environment in the time of COVID-19. Inspiration may be drawn from (but is not limited to): your relationship to nature in quarantine, a favorite spot in nature you may be missing right now, or how the environment has benefited from this global pause. If you feel compelled to take a deeper dive, you may choose to explore how the mistreatment of nature accelerated this crisis, or how environmental factors have made disadvantaged groups more vulnerable to the virus. No matter how light-hearted or topical, all entries are welcome. Selected plays will be rehearsed, performed, and recorded remotely from the comfort (and safety!) of the actors' homes. The readings will be published on our website and social media on May 1st.
Connective Theatre Company is committed to telling stories that connect reason and emotion, provoke critical consciousness, and facilitate a path to action.
Important Dates:
April 13th-April 20th: Accepting submissions.
April 22, Earth Day: Official announcement of selected works.
May 1st: Play will be published on CTC's website and social media.
The call for scripts is worldwide.
