The Women's Theatre Alliance seeks actors for its annual New Play Development Workshop Scene Showcase. Actors will be involved in the final stages of the workshop series, which features the work of seven incredible Chicago-based playwrights. Each playwright and director team will present 15-20 minutes of a brand new play. This is a wonderful opportunity to help develop new work! (Some scenes may have adult themes and language.) We are seeking actors who can play the following:

Women, Ages 17-80, all ethnicities
Men, Ages 20-60, all ethnicities
Latinx Women, Ages 20-40
Italian Women, Ages 20-40
Irish Women, Ages 15-20 and 70-85
Jewish Women, Age 18
African American Women, Age 17-30
German Women, Age 16

If we are able to return to the theater, the performance will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 7:30 PM at The Greenhouse Theatre, 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. Tech is a required commitment on Monday night, July 20th. Individual directors will coordinate a rehearsal schedule. If we are not able to return to the theatre at this point, we will coordinate an online version of the performances and most likely postpone the live performance.

The preliminary auditions will be online.

Callbacks will be scheduled for June 13, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be notified no later than June 9, 2020 if you have been invited to callbacks. You may be asked to stay part of the day or the full day. On June 9, 2020, we will let you know the times you are needed for call backs. You will be notified whether or not you have been cast no later than June 17, 2020.

If cast, the writer and director will coordinate two or more rehearsals with you and the other cast members between June 18, 2020 and July 19, 2020.
