Water People Theater is holding auditions for FIT monologues, International Online Festival of Latin Theater Monologues.
FIT monologues, a new stage for actors to stand on and re-engage with audiences during this digital hiatus provided by Water People Theater.
We want to create new opportunities for Latin talent to be showcased and for them to be able to entertain, move, and transform audiences through the powerful force of theater. It is also a new stage for the public to reconnect; providing audiences the opportunity to be another member of the judging panel at the festival.
Applications are now available for the 1st edition of FIT Monologues.
The event will take place from July 24-31, 2020.
JURY MEMBERS:
Integrated by renowned figures in the Latin Theater: Henry Godinez (Resident Artistic Associate at the Goodman), Jorge Ali Triana, Ana MarĂa Simon, Miguel Ferrari, Diana Penalver, Juan Jose Martin, Teresa Hernando, Juan Sebastian Aragon, Ramon Camin.

REQUIREMENTS:
Category description:
Professionals: actors and directors with 5 or more years of experience in the field of theater. Minimum monologue duration of 20 - 60 mins max.
Next Generation: recent college graduated actors and/or directors with a degree in theater. Minimum monologue duration of 15 - 30 mins max.
Must be an actor and/or director in the field of a theater of Hispanic descent. Can reside anywhere in the world.
Preferably monologues written by but not limited to Latin and/or Hispanic playwrights. (Must have rights to the text and music used in your production.)
A translation of the text in English and/or Spanish must be provided were you to become a finalist.
Time Commitment:
Selected applicants announced on July 5th.
Festival performance dates from July 24-31 through www.waterpeople.org
Two showcased monologues per day broadcast-live at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM (CDT) respectively.
Live award ceremony on August 1st at 2:00 PM (CDT) through Zoom.
