Interactive, Virtually Immersive Show via Cyber-Stage Seeking Actors

The Outer Loop Theater Experience presents OneIronaut, an immersive, virtual, interactive thriller.

Logline: After the government catches wind of a whistleblower, they kidnap five suspects and implant false memories to probe their subconscious. The suspects believe they're in a support group for people who can't dream.

Callbacks will take place virtually between July 31st & August 1st. Stipend guaranteed. Non-union/Union performers.

Character Breakdown:

Iris (early to mid 20s) female, latinx. An activist and leader of the underground community board. A rational perfectionist. An idealist. Effortlessly confident and cool as a cucumber on the outside. In her dreams, she tends to be a huge self-critic to herself and doesn't allow herself to be vulnerable.

Zarina (early to mid 20s) female, BIPOC. A true blue introvert if you've ever seen one, looking to find meaning within an absurd world of dreams. She's straight talking, self-aware to the point that one could mistake it as insecurity, and she's much too clever to fall for petty parlour tricks like R.E.A.L. technology...but that doesn't change the fact that she's lonely. Even introverts need to socialize.

Emil Juniper (late 40s to early 50s) male, all ethnicities. The creator of R.E.A.L. and Co-founder of R.E.M. Labs. Yet for some reason, cannot use his own invention. Recluse, refined, walking dictionary. Strong internal life.

Vaughn (mid to late 20s) female, all ethnicities. Biomedical Engineer. Insightful, curious, versatile, cutting wit with high-level intelligence. Deeply obsessed with the loss of her father.

Margot (mid to late 20s) female, BIPOC. Success-oriented, driven, and incredibly charismatic. Comes from wealth, power, and grace. Wants to right her family's wrongs.

Rhonda Shirvalley (mid to late 30s) female, all ethnicities. Will stop at nothing to protect loyal citizens from the whistleblower. Motherly, slightly overbearing. Protective, confrontational, willful, and precise.

Dew (mid to late 20's) male, all ethnicities. The jester character. A former insomniac experimented on by doctors who would induce him into the dreams of others. Traumatized by the pain of each person's suffering, Dew's personality split into an unknown amount of pieces. Now he never sleeps. Red Bull is in his veins. A ridiculous and off-the-wall character who uses humor as a defense mechanism. Comedic range required.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals start August 10th. Cast will meet two to three times a week virtually in the late afternoon Eastern Time Zone, for four weeks, before diving into tech. We are double casting. Adhering to social distancing rules, all rehearsals will be conducted remotely August 10 - September 4, and all performances between Saturday, September 12th, 8:00PM ET & Sunday, September 13th, 8:00PM ET.

Please submit one contemporary monologue, no longer than 90 seconds.

-Slate your name and the character for which you are interested in being considered.

-Be in front of a solid background or plain brick wall

-Make sure sound and lighting are good

-If filming on your phone, hold phone horizontally
