Possibilities Theatre Company announces audition for their upcoming production of Free Space by Tara Meddaugh.

"Amelia spends her days under the watchful eye of her mother, doing the same nothing she has done for years. Yet when Bingo arrives at her local community center, a talking Bingo chip convinces Amelia that forming her own game is the way out of this life and away from her controlling mother. However, as her mother begins acting like her newly arrived sister, and the chip becomes increasingly dominating, Amelia discovers her new life is nothing as she imagined."

Free Space auditions will be held live over Zoom August 31st and September 1st from 7 - 10:30 PM. With callbacks scheduled (also live, over Zoom), Thursday, September 3rd from 6:30 - 10:30 PM.

AVAILABLE ROLES:

AMELIA: A young woman of about 20

BERTHA: A mother in her forties or fifties.

RICKY: A young man of about 20.

DIANE: A woman in her thirties or forties.

Roles are open to people of all genders, ethnicities, body types, and abilities!

COVID-regulation and weather permitting, Free Space will be performed Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, October 22nd-October 31st at 7:30 PM in an outdoor location in Chicago or the near North suburbs (around a bonfire for spooky, Halloween ambiance). Audiences will be limited to 25 people, and all social distance precautions will be thoroughly abided by. In the event it is not safe to perform outside, this will be performed live, over Zoom. Whether remote or in-person, this show will feature a live Bingo game pre-show, intermission, and post-show where audiences win real prizes!

Rehearsals will be held mostly outside and over Zoom, with potential for a couple of indoor rehearsals. 6 people- cast, director, and SM. All social distancing and CDC/state/city COVID guidelines and requirements will be followed in rehearsals, staging, and performance.

Possibilities Theatre Company is committed to abiding by the Not in Our House and We See You W.A.T. standards.

Actors will be paid by split of admission donations!

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will begin the week of September 21st, with 4-5 rehearsals a week, scheduled around actor availability. Tech week will be the week of October 19th, with six performances-- 10/22, 10/23, 10/24, 10/29, 10/30, 10/31/2020
