Stage Left Theatre is excited to announce zoom auditions for our upcoming virtual production of The Project(s) written by PJ Paparelli and Joshua Jaeger. The production will be directed by Christian Helem and stage managed by Devonte Washington. This documentary play explores public housing in Chicago through interviews with scholars, teachers, community members, and Chicago Public Housing residents.
Due to COVID-19 Stage Left will host zoom auditions on Tuesday Sept 8th 9am - 2pm and Wednesday Sept 8th from 5 - 8pm. Callbacks on zoom will be hosted on Sept 14th from 5-8pm. If unavailable during these times, a recorded video audition submission will be Important Rehearsal Information: Reliable internet, a computer or ipad, and some space to move around behind you. Please note this is a three act ensemble piece that spans a few decades. Each actor will be playing a couple main roles, but everyone will be a part of the company and play multiple smaller characters. An ability to take risks and play is a must!
As with everything in 2020, performances will be looking a bit different for this production since all will be live performances, yet over zoom! Performance dates: Friday-Sunday Nov 4-22, 6-8 performances total. Rehearsals will begin in late September and run through October, days will be dependent upon actors availability (all will be virtual). Each actor will receive a $200 stipend being a part of this virtual production.
