Description:
Strawdog Theatre Company announces auditions for our virtual production of HERSHEL AND THE HANUKKAH GOBLINS, based on the book by Eric Kimmel, adapted for the stage by Mike Dailey, directed by Spencer Ryan Diedrick. A stage adaptation of the classic children's book, the show will use live music to tell the fantastical story of Hershel defeating a series of goblins over the eight days of Hanukkah.
Seeking non-AEA actors of all backgrounds for principal and understudy positions. We strongly encourage performers of all ethnicities, ages, sizes, genders, and abilities.
There is pay - $200 for principal actors and $100 for the understudy/swing
We are accepting self-tape video submissions until 11:59pm CST on Wednesday, Sept 23.
Invited callbacks will be scheduled live on Zoom and held on Sunday, Sept 27 from 10am-2pm CST and Monday, Sept 28 from 6-9pm CST.
Auditions will consist of one contemporary 60-90 sec comedic monologue and 16-32 bars of a song, either acapella or you can choose to accompany yourself if you play an instrument. Optional: include a joke (dad jokes and puns very welcome!)
Schedule Overview
Oct 26 to Nov 22 - Rehearsals (3 times a week via Zoom based on actor availability)
Nov 30 and Dec 3 - Dress Rehearsals
Dec 5 to 20 - Performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 4pm CST
Details: The actors will be filming live from their own homes. They need to ensure they have a reliable internet connection and a small area of their home within which to perform.
