Description:
Seeking actors for a virtual production of Bull written by Mike Bartlett and directed by Noah Watkins. Bull is presented as an independent project in cooperation with Dramatists Play Service Inc. Rehearsals begin January 6th, 2021 with performances on January 22nd and January 23rd.
Show Summary:
A blistering, nasty little play about the fine line between office politics and adult bullying, Bull offers ringside seats as three employees fight to keep their jobs. Written by Mike Bartlett (King Charles III, Cock), this 50-minute one-act keeps adrenaline high as Thomas, Isobel, and Tony await their boss' entrance to the meeting where he will decide which two will continue with the company. Intent on keeping their own jobs, Isobel and Tony seek to rattle Thomas' confidence while maintaining a veneer of plausible deniability. First produced in 2015, Bull's already high stakes skyrocket against the backdrop of a global pandemic and 200 million jobs lost worldwide.
Characters:
Seeking non-AEA actors of all backgrounds. We strongly encourage performers of all ethnicities, ages, sizes, genders, and abilities to apply.
Thomas - Disappointingly average. Constantly slighted. The bull chasing bits of red cloth. We would feel sorry for him if he wasn't so aggressive. M/NB.
Tony - Daddy's money got him here. Polished. Ruthless. Unbothered. "Built like a sh%thouse." M/NB. Requires partial nudity.
Isobel - Whip smart. Cold. Calculated. Knows how she is perceived, and uses it to her advantage. F/NB.
Carter - The boss. A fast talker. Decisive, but thinks of himself as impartial. The judge. Old school business elite. Any gender.
