The Candlelight Theatre is still seeking submissions for the role of YOUNG WILL for Big Fish. Directed and choreographed by Devon Sinclair, Big Fish runs March 19th – April 24th, with rehearsals starting late January.
YOUNG WILL - Age 8-12. Black/African American. Precocious and intelligent, Young Will is intrigued by his father’s stories enough to join the ride but rational enough to doubt their truth at an early age. Actor should move and sing well (F4 to C5).
Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s son, Will, has grown up with the incredible, larger-than-life stories from kissing a mermaid, to encountering a witch, to befriending a giant and meeting Will’s mother in a circus. But Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theater—for an experience that’s richer, funnier, and bigger than life itself.
