Rainbow Fish: the sheltered rockstar on a pedestal, young and self-centered, their
self-worth is completely tied into their beautiful scales. Since they have never left the
reef where they are famous, they have a very limited world view. A glam rock heartthrob
(Rock/Pop Tenor/Bari-Tenor)
Little Fish: a young fish with a big heart. A fan of Rainbow Fish, they are unafraid and
excited, but can be a little annoying. They help teach Rainbow Fish what it means to be
a friend (Musical Theatre/Rock/Pop Alto/Mezzo)
Actor 3 (Plays Starfish and Teacher Minnow) A dynamic, fun, and excited fish! This
actor plays multiple roles
Actor 4 (Plays Octopus, Pufferfish, and Hermit Crab) A dynamic, fun, and excited
fish! This actor plays multiple roles
Actor 5 (Plays Sardine and Clownfish) A dynamic, fun, and excited fish! This actor
plays multiple roles

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Prepare 16-32 bars of a contemporary or Broadway
pop/rock song in the style of the show. Songs from Rainbow Fish or other TYA musicals
are allowed. Please choose a song that will showcase your acting abilities as well as
your vocal abilities. A piano accompanist will be provided. There will be no dance call
during initial auditions.
CONFLICTS: Please refrain from auditioning if you have any conflicts with tech week
(February 28-March 3) and/or show dates (see above).
CASTING BREAKDOWN: All roles are open. Any gender can play any role. All body
types, races, ethnicities, genders, and sexualtiies are encouraged to audition. We are
seeking five (5) dynamic performers who can sing, act, and move. This is an ensemble
based show.
COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES: All PCS Volunteers will be required to be vaccinated in
order to participate on-stage and off for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.* If you are not
yet fully vaccinated, but will be by the start of rehearsals, you may submit your audition
via video.
The Players Club of Swarthmore and the Rainbow Fish production team are committed
