Seeking local Non Union actors to learn the roles in the production and will be in rehearsals a minimum of 25 hours per week, must see 1 preview in the first week of performances, but then be on call during the remaining weeks; $100 per performance should they have to go on.
[ KEVIN (LOCAL STANDBY)] 33 to 40 years old, male presenting. a has-been-who-never-was comedian, who works as a waiter at Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York City. He is 40 years old and in quarantine in the attic of his parents’ house in Longview, Texas. He has just separated from his long-time boyfriend, Jordan, an investment banker who has made it possible for Kevin to live a lifestyle much better than what he could otherwise afford as a waiter. In the attic bedroom, he is reunited with, among other things, the old record player he grew up with along with his Dolly albums. He remembers the hard times she helped him through in the past and counts on her once again to help him through this one. Must sing seeking local actor from the Philadelphia/Wilmington area.
DOLLY PARTON (LOCAL STANDBY)] 33 to 40 years old, white female. Dolly Parton - We meet Dolly as she appears in Kevin’s mind, as her career is kicking into high gear around the time of her albums that came out in 1977 through 1980, all of which Kevin still owns. She has been called the Smokey Mountain Songbird, Backwoods Barbie and the Leading Lady of Country Music. MUST sing and speak like Dolly Parton and play some guitar.
