The Black Ensemble Theater will hold in person auditions for it's upcoming mainstage musical "Blue Heaven" on Monday August 29th starting at 11am-6pm.
Blue Heaven Character Descriptions
Howlin' Wolf-(African American Male) 40-50; Blues legend. Tall in stature. Big boisterous voice only matched by personality. Delta Blues driven. Guitar and/or harmonica ability welcome but not mandatory
Big Momma Thornton-(African American Female) 30-40; Blues legend. Big brassy voice. Uninhibited by thought of others. Tough and comical. Harmonica ability welcome but not mandatory
Muddy Waters-(African American Male) 30-40; Blues legend. Commanding voice. Chicago Blues driven. Fun but stern. Guitar ability welcome but not mandatory
Stevie Ray Vaughn-(Caucasian) 25-30; Blues/Rock legend. Big in voice and guitar abilities. Laid back but master on the stage. Texas Blues driven. Guitar playing ability a must.
BB King- (African American Male) 25-30; Blues Legend; Blues originalist. Big voice, The blues engulfs him. Guitar playing ability a must.
Pay: CAT 4 Equity/ $350 per week Non-Union
First Rehearsal: Sept 26th
Tech: Oct 18th
First Preview: Oct 22nd
Press Open: Oct. 30th
Close: Nov. 27th
Please prepare a Blues song of your choice (Preferably Chicago or Delta Blues) To be sang accapella or you may accompany yourself on guitar
