Description:
The Beverly Arts Center announces auditions for the second production of their new BOLD VOICES season, ALL IS CALM.
A synopsis of the show:The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man's Land singing "Stille Nacht." Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. A remarkable true story, told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.
Seeking ten (10) male-identifying singer-actors to play the roles of soldiers in this story. The characters in this show sing in traditional TTBB choral style, a capella, and all performers must be strong music readers, have a strong sense of pitch, and be able to hold an independent musical line within the context of a chorus. Ability to play TAPS on coronet/trumpet is a plus. The characters in the piece represent different nationalities (German, French, British, Scottish), and all actors will be required to engage in accent work.
Auditions are in person, by appointment on Wednesday, September 14 from 5:30 - 9:30. The Beverly Arts Center at 2407 W. 111th Street, Chicago IL 60655
For the audition, actors should prepare a short 1-2 minute a capella song - patriotic or Christmas preferred. Additionally, actors may be asked to read a short audition side.
Rehearsals will begin on Saturday, September 17th and will be held weekly on Saturday afternoons, and Monday and Thursday evenings. A listing of those dates and times will be available on the night of the auditions.
Callbacks will be held on Thursday evening, September 15th by invitation.
