Description:
Lyric Opera of Chicago is looking for Male-identifying Volunteer Supers for Don Carlos
Supers are unpaid volunteers. A $25.00 honorarium is provided for each rehearsal and performance attended to offset expenses that may be incurred. A direct deposit for the total amount will be sent to the super's bank account approximately three weeks following the final performance.
14 Supers will play:
Soldiers - These are the King's guards
Monks - An order of hermit monks
Heretics - Sentenced to burn at the stake
Villagers - Part of an angry mob
These are non-singing, non-speaking roles. Supers of color and all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior stage experience is helpful. Physical coordination, the ability to follow and remember stage directions, and taking musical cues on your own is necessary. To be considered, supers must fit into an existing costume, and be available for the rehearsals and performances included on the schedule below.
Costume sizes are:
Height: 5'7"-6'2"
Chest: 36-44"
Waist: 31-38"
Please Note:
Lyric requires everyone entering the building to be fully vaccinated. Supers cast in our productions need to provide a copy of their COVID-19 vaccination record. Everyone must wear a mask covering their mouth and nose when in the building.
