Auditions Saturday September 10 beginning at 3 pm at Skinner Studio Theatre at Plays and Players, 1714 Delancey Place in Philadelphia. This is the World Premiere of a new original play by R. T. Bowersox. It will be Barrymore eligible. The role is fully paid.
Open Role:
MAGGIE HOPEWELL (Late 40’s) - Maggie has come with her grown children to the Ruskin Funeral Home to pay her last respects to her recently-departed husband, MARTIN, whom she divorced 8 years ago and has rarely seen since. She is not quite ready for the emotions and memories that she finds bubbling up. The real turn of the play, however, is that the spirit of the departed Martin is in the room with her and his son, BEN, and daughter, LISA. And though Maggie, Ben, and Lisa cannot see or hear him, he has no trouble doing so with them. The play is an intriguing blend of dialogue within monologue, as each of the family members have their private moments paying their last respects to the departed Martin. The role requires an actor with a very good sense of timing.
PLEASE NOTE: applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide proof of vaccination at the audition.
Auditions are by appointment only. Please submit headshot, resume, and any irrevocable conflicts to: theatrexpphiladelphia@gmail.com.
