Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) will be holding auditions for its 2023 season and is seeking non-union actors for its three unique touring programs: Montana Shakes!, Shakespeare in the Parks, and Shakespeare in the Schools (SIS). MSIP offers competitive salaries, housing, and per diem while on tour.
AUDITION DATES/TIMES:
MSIP will be holding auditions in CHICAGO on Monday, December 5th and Tuesday, December 6th. Callbacks will be held on Friday, December 9th, also in Chicago.

We will consider recorded audition pieces, though live auditions are always preferable. If sharing a recorded audition, you must post your audition to YouTube and provide us with a link. The deadline for recorded applications is Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with decisions on hiring following live auditions.
ABOUT MONTANA SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKS' PROGRAMS
Shakespeare in the Parks employs 10 actors for an 18-week summer season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana, northern Wyoming, Eastern Idaho, western North Dakota and eastern Washington. Two plays rehearse for six weeks starting in mid-May and then tour the region for a 12-week period ending in mid-September. The 2023 season will present Measure for Measure directed by Terri McMahon and The Three Musketeers directed by MSIP Executive Artistic Director Kevin Asselin. Offers competitive salaries, housing and per diem while on tour.
Shakespeare in the Schools employs 8 actors for a 10-week fall season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana and northern Wyoming. We are particularly looking for actor-educators who have the experience, interest, and ability to be effective teachers as well as actors. The play rehearses for three weeks starting in mid-September and then tours the region for a ten-week period ending in mid-December. The 2023 season will present As You Like It directed by Melanie Keller. Offers competitive salaries, housing, and per diem while on tour.
Montana Shakes! employs 3 actors for a 12-week spring season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana and northern Wyoming. We are particularly looking for actor-educators who have the experience, interest, and ability to be effective teachers, as well as actors. The play rehearses for two weeks starting in January and tours the region through April. The 2023 season will present "Hamlet Sandwich" an adaptation of Hamlet directed by Matt Foss. Offers competitive salaries, housing, and per diem while on tour.
If you are selected for an audition, please prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues (combined, not exceed 3 minutes in total). Additionally, please bring two headshots, two acting resumes (also, teaching resumes if you have one), and an instrument (no ukulele or piano) - if you plan to add music to your audition it still should not exceed 3 minutes. Ability to sing or play musical instruments is highly desired.
