Description:
Casting "Raven's Stars," an original new musical set in Juneau, Alaska, about a young girl with autism. Witnessing drug abuse, mental illness, and more, she turns to Alaska Native storytelling to help understand her world. This show deals with dark themes including suicide, domestic violence, and drug use. Only actors comfortable with portraying characters involved in these types of scenarios should apply. During auditions we will provide further details about each character to ensure actors understand the nature of the character and that they are comfortable with the material.
Dates:
Rehearsals will take place via Zoom, based on availability. In-person rehearsals will begin at The Edge Theatre in Edgewater on March 6th. Performs March 9-12 (5 shows).
Roles:
Grayson - Xoots' older brother and Raven's boyfriend. He starts out as a good brother, but his drug addiction turns into a violent streak and he becomes manipulative. Vocal range (rock tenor): A2-Eb5.
We also still need musicians
Musicians - Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Flute, Violin, Cello. Pays stipend (negotiable).
Acting roles are currently unpaid, but we hope to be able to pay them and are seeking funding to be able to provide a small stipend to actors. Musician roles will be paid a negotiable stipend.
