Description:
Bring Your Own Theatre (BYOT) is a platform for anyone and everyone to come and create live theatre with a supportive and collaborative group, regardless of experience level. Our company found its roots in the living rooms of its members and has enjoyed performing at various traditional and non-traditional performance venues across Chicago over the past 8 years! Our shows bring together five writers and directors, and a group of actors to create, rehearse and perform five original new plays - all in 24 hours! Come play!
Location: Corn Productions (4210 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60618)
Time Commitment:
Pre-Show Meeting: Saturday, 2/18 - 5pm(via Zoom/Google Meeting)
Date of Show: Sunday, 2/19 - 5pm
Saturday 2/18:
We will be having our monthly pre-show meeting via Zoom. The meeting will be at 5:00 pm. At this meeting, we will give an overview of the process, announce the groups, and announce the theme. Groups will break off to go over consent, comfortability and collaborate about preferences for their plays.
Sunday 2/19:
Writers will have until 7:00 am on Saturday to complete their short plays.
All participants will meet at Corn Productions at 10:00am to rehearse, memorize and tech their short plays, followed by one dress rehearsal and dinner break.
Doors will open at 4:30 pm, with the show starting at 5:00 pm.
Approximate show run time - 2 hours.

3) Your preferred role(writer, director, actor, tech, special act(with description)). No experience required!*
4) Proof of vaccination
*We also provide a mentorship program! So if you're a little anxious or curious about participating in a specific role, please also indicate if you would like us to provide you with a Mentor!
***In accordance with the League of Chicago Theatres COVID-19 Policies, all performers and production team will be required to be fully vaccinated and when not performing will be asked to remain masked. All audience will also be required to provide proof of vaccination in order to attend, and remain masked throughout the show.
