Description:
Young Krones-a theatermaking duo based in Rogers Park-is seeking actors for an upcoming run of a new site-specific performance, A CURSORY EVALUATION OF THE POWER DYNAMICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AT WORK IN THE FIFTH BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN AMERICA, OR ROGERS PARK PLAY, written by M.K. Rothberg and directed by Ava Calabrese Grob. Performances will take place in April and May, for intimate audiences in a two-bedroom apartment in historic Jarvis Square.
SYNOPSIS:
Jane needs a place to live. Peter and Wendy have a room to rent. One stormy spring evening, Jane visits with the Rogers Park couple, their soon-to-depart au pair, who also happens to be their lover, their ten-year old kid, who just wants to finish his pillow fort, and their upstairs neighbor-cum-weed-dealer. In the neighborhood where only the weird survive, six adult children have queer questions and hungry hearts, and the water is rising fast.
ROLES:
We are seeking to fill the roles of PETER and WENDY. All performers must be comfortable dancing on stage. Performers must be comfortable with nudity on stage, which will be overseen by an Intimacy Choreographer.
WENDY 48. Any race/ethnicity. A woman. An adjunct history professor at a local university.
PETER: 45. Any race/ethnicity. A man. Wendy's husband. Wears a beanie. Anxious. Getting sober.
Pay: $300 stipend
