Description:

Oil Lamp Theater is seeking submissions for its two upcoming productions: Collected Stories by Donald Margulies (Elizabeth Mazur Levin, Director/OLT Artistic Director) and Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire (JT Nagle, Director).

Collected Stories will run July 20-September 3
Ripcord will run September 21-October 29
Performances for both shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings (7:30pm) and matinees on Saturdays and Sundays (3pm).

Joint auditions by appointment only will be Monday, March 20th from 7:00-10:00pm.
They will be held at the theater which is located at 1723 Glenview Road, Glenview, IL.

Callbacks are by invitation only and will be held on Tuesday, March 28 beginning at 7:00pm (Collected Stories) and Monday, April 3 beginning at 7:00pm (Ripcord).

Collected Stories
Collected Stories traverses the relationship between an established writer/professor and her adoring fan turned protege. Spanning a number of years, and exploring the changes of a dynamic relationship, this witty play explores the idea of who owns someone's experience. Is my story mine alone to tell, or is it yours to share if I have shared it to you?

Specifically seeking a female-identifying cast:

Lisa Morrison, student, age 26-32
Ruth Steiner, writer, age 55-61-This role has been cast. Seeking the understudy only.

Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, May 23 and are typically held from 7:00-10:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings and 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturdays until tech which begins on Saturday, July 15.

Ripcord
A senior living facility is the setting for this hilarious comedy. When cantankerous Abby is forced to share her living quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden (Dramatists Play Service).

Benjamin/Lewis/Clown (played by the same actor), 40s
Colleen/Woman in White (played by the same actor), 30s-40s
Derek/Zombie/Butler/Masked Man (played by the same actor), 30s-40s
