Lifeline Theatre is seeking understudies for their upcoming production of From The Mississippi Delta, by Endesha Ida Mae Holland and directed by Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan.

About the show:
From The Mississippi Delta begins in Greenwood, Mississippi-aka the Delta. Phelia (Holland's alter-ego) takes us through her and others' horrifying experiences that motivate her to dream beyond the shotgun house where she was raised in Dixie Lane Alley.

This is a 3-woman ensemble piece. All actors will be weaving in and out of portraying the same character(s) at different ages and stages in life. They will also be singing, at times in harmony and a cappella. We are looking for a strong ensemble of actors and singers to tell this story. All actors will be considered for all tracks.

Available roles:
Ensemble UNDERSTUDIES: Female Identifying, Any Age, Black/African American. Strong character actors with ability to sing and harmonize. Southern Dialect.

Pay: $385 to learn the show; plus $25/performance, if you go on.

Understudies are expected to attend run-throughs, dress rehearsals, and preview performances as coordinated with the Stage Manager, and be ready to play designated roles at any rehearsal or performance, as needed. All cast/production team/crew must show proof of vaccination/booster status.
