The Drama group is seeking strong actors, singers, and dancers of color for their upcoming production of Once on This Island. This production is intentionally seeking performers that are Black/African Descent, Bi-racial (African-Descent) , and represented by the ancestry of the Caribbean.
Note that this show is based on the novel, My Love, My Love or The Peasant Girl by Rosa Guy. It is a Haitian re-imagining of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. This production deals with sensitive issues such as spirituality, class, poverty, violence, and colorism. Some roles will require specific skin complexions. It is the intention to honor this part of the storytelling.
