Description:
Janus Theatre Company is celebrating its 25th season and is seeking actors for its summer production of Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde by Moises Kaufman.
All roles are open. Directed by Sean Hargadon. There is a small stipend.
WHEN: Sunday, April 30th and Tuesday, May 2nd at 7pm. Actors need only attend one day.
WHERE: Steel Beam Theatre, 111 West Main Street. St. Charles, IL
WHAT: Open Call. No appointment is necessary. Actors will be seen in order of arrival.
Seeking nine men, ranging in age from 20s - 50s.
Auditions will consist of cold readings. Headshot and resume are optional.
About Janus Theatre Company:
Janus Theatre Company is an award-winning organization that has produced more than 100 productions since 1999. The company calls Elgin home, but has performed in Chicago, New York City and internationally. The company focuses on producing classic and contemporary works while exploring the actor/audience relationship inside unique spaces. The company is also an active Shakespeare producer and explores original practices by presenting them to contemporary audiences.
Rehearsals will be conducted in Elgin. They will begin in early May running four dates per week. Will increase closer to opening.
Performance dates: June 16-25, 2023: Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. No performance on Sunday, June 18. Performances will take place at the Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division Street, downtown Elgin.
