Description:
Corn Productions is seeking a diverse cast of all ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds for a new comedy play by Ryan Stevens about the life of notoriously terrible human being and billionaire, John D Rockefeller, called The Rockefeller Special.
The Rockefeller Special is a true life and times telling of the story of John D. Rockefeller, how he amassed his fortune, gave the world monopolies, and was a genuinely horrible person. Our story is guided by our narrator, the Historian, and re-enactments of pivotal life moments portrayed by the man himself, John D. Rockefeller, and our 3 Players. The Players jump between characters and break the 4th wall to share their true feelings. From birth to death, this play does not hold back, and, spoiler, it does not turn out well for John in the end.
This cast of 5 is set to be put together by women, trans, gender-nonconforming, and BIPOC performers to contract the overwhelmingly white, cis male subjects of our history.
There is a minimum stipend of $150 for each actor, with the possibility of making more.
Auditions will be on Sunday, April 30th starting at 1PM, with invited callbacks on Tuesday, May 2nd at 7PM.
Performances will take place July 14th through August 5th, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM with a 6:30 PM call time. Rehearsals will take place beginning the end of May on weekends and evenings (Tuesday-Thursday), scheduled based on cast availability.
All performances and rehearsals will take place at Cornservatory, 4210 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60618
