Theatre L'Acadie is seeking 2 Actors & 2 Understudies for their upcoming production of Today Tonight Soon by Melanie Coffey, directed by Erin Sheets. Understudy time commitment includes an open rehearsal policy, and 1-2 scheduled rehearsals per week. There will be 1 guaranteed understudy performance.

Theatre L'Acadie is actively seeking all identities, races, and ethnicities for these roles. We encourage submissions by performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions.

ABOUT THE PLAY:
"In the far future, a group of women have spent their lives on an island waiting for the last man on earth - the Rowboat Man - to row to shore and help restart the human race. After the desperate urges from their mother however, Lorelei and Eloise must steal the man's boat and escape the island and their duty. Waiting on the beach, the two question their roles as women, reproductive rights and the consequences of climate change.

A mixture of Regency romance and feminist dystopia, the play takes place an hour before the sun sets, when the water is calm and the sky is pink and blue."

CASTING BREAKDOWN

ELOISE (she/her) 20s, any ethnicity - lives in a fantasy world and only comes out when she has to, Lorelei's younger sister

LORELEI (she/her) 20s, POC - lives in a logical and cynical world but leaves now and then, Eloise's older sister

PRODUCTION INFO
Performances of Today Tonight Soon will take place at Loyola Beach.

Rehearsals will be split between the performance space at Loyola Beach and Facility Theatre (Humboldt Park).

CALLBACKS:
Callbacks will take place at The Lycee Francais de Chicago (1929 W Wilson Ave, Chicago, IL 60640) on June 10th during the afternoon. You will be given a slotted time for your callback, as well as sides.

PAY RANGE:
$275 Stipend (Principle Cast) or $200 Stipend (Understudies). Theatre L'Acadie will also offer a complimentary mini headshot session with our company photographer as a Thank You for your work!
