Welcome to the world premiere of Gut by Alexander Utz!
Directed by Patrick Starner and produced by Platform (a production company) Platform is dedicated to creating original platform-specific work and sharing the work of unconventional creators with unconventional audiences. This show will be an exploration of what theatre is thought to be and what it can be. We will integrate the identities and talents of the actors into the trope of storytellers sharing the tale of Alexis and Beaumont.

Summary:
A group of storytellers gathers to chronicle a curious tale. It's 1822. A fur trader named Alexis St. Martin gets shot (by accident) and is left with a gaping wound in his chest, leading directly to his stomach. His doctor, William Beaumont, uses him and his wound to conduct studies on digestion for the next 11 years. And yes, this really happened.

In Person Callbacks: July 8 (July 10 if needed)

Actors will be provided a $200 stipend and profit share for their participation in the production.

Platform is proud to be producing our Chicago premiere in collaboration with Avalanche Theatre. The show will be performed at the Fine Arts Building and streamed through the help of PocketTheatreVR.
