Chicago Shakespeare Theater is holding auditions for Twelfth Night.
Characters:
NOTE: Do not sing in dialect unless it is your natural way of speaking.
SEEKING: FESTE (30's -40's) Any gender. African-American, Afro-Carribean, or Afro-Latinx. Olivia's fool. Extremely witty, a soulful singer and musician (guitar or percussion), and a strong mover. An entertainer.
FABIAN (20s to 40s). Any gender. African-American, Afro-Carribean, or Afro-Latinx. A member of Olivia's court who takes part in Malvolio's comeuppance. Possible understudy for Feste.
VALENTINE, CURIO: (20s TO 40s) Male or GNC. Assistants to the Duke Orsino. African-American, Afro-Carribean, or Afro-Latinx. Seeking a strong vocalist who can play guitar, sing harmony and move very well, and an actor and singer who plays percussion very well. Especially seeking a steel drum percussionist. Possible understudy.
GENTLEWOMAN. (20s to 30s) Assistant to Countess Olivia. Female. African-American, Afro-Carribean, or Afro-Latinx. Seeking actor with great spirit who is a strong vocalist or instrumentalist, as well as a strong mover. Possible understudy to Olivia, Viola.
