Description:
PrideArts is looking for a Sound Engineer/Board Op for their upcoming production of the new musical Gay Card.
Gay Card, by the emerging team of Ryan Korell (music) and Jonathan Keebler (book and lyrics) follows a college freshman named Logan who desperately wants to fit in with the gay crowd at his school and earn his "gay card" by convincing his housemates that he is indeed "awesome enough to be gay."
Load-in/tech begins Aug 7; previews will be Aug 24 - Aug 27; opening on Aug 28; closes Sept 24. The start date is TBD. (It will be after Aug 7.) Rehearsals are usually Monday - Friday 630p-10p and Saturday 10a-2p. Performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are at 730p, and Sundays at 3p.
As the Sound Engineer you will be tasked with managing all of the microphones that are used during the show. This includes distributing the mics to the actors (and possibly the band), conducting a mic check before each performance, collecting the mics at the end of the show, and replacing batteries as needed. As the Board Op, you will run the sound board, ensuring that the microphones are on or off as needed during the show.
The stipend is $525.
