Description:

Lyric Opera of Chicago is auditioning 6 to 12-year-old boys and girls to play villagers in their production of Jenůfa.

The audition will be held on Monday, August 7th at 6 pm at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive.

Rehearsals begin October 24th. There are 5 performances November 12, 15, 18, 21 and 26.

The children are guests at a wedding. They present Jenůfa with flowers, join hands and circle her. Then they sit and watch the celebration. Prior stage experience is helpful. The ability to follow and remember stage directions is necessary. These are non-singing, non-speaking roles. Child supers may apply for an education grant of $250.00 from The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center.

You must fit into one of the following existing costumes.

Boys costume sizes:
1. 25" waist, 28" chest, 21" inseam
2. 25" waist, 31" chest, 19" inseam
3. 27" waist, 33" chest, 28" inseam
4. 28" waist, 34" chest, 24" inseam

Girls costume sizes:
1. 25" waist, 28" chest, 31" waist to ankle
2. 25" waist, 28" chest, 33" waist to ankle
3. 25" waist, 32" chest, 32" waist to ankle
4. 27" waist, 31" chest, 34" waist to ankle

Children of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend.
