Description:

JLS Creative Services is casting Halloween Performers to interact with bar patrons at Good Times Brewery, 3827 N. Broadway in Chicago, on Thursday through Saturday evenings from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. (9:30 p.m. call) October 6 through October 28, and also on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Performers will rotate through the bar during the night.

Also seeking a Hypnotist Assistant for hypnotist-magician "Jeffrey Powers" (Jeffery Lyle Segal), who will perform at the bar every Wednesday night from 9 to 10:00 p.m. (8:30 call time) starting September 6 through October 25, and is anticipated to continue open ended.

Characters:

Leather Face - Male identifying adult actor, 6' or taller preferred. Performance modeled after the character from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movies. Actor will wear a mask, brandish a faux chain saw, and make dark jokes with dinner patrons about cutting their food with it.

Freddy Krueger - Male identifying adult actor with creepy voice. Performance modeled after Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies. Actor will wear a full head head mask, which may require gluing around the mouth. So Actor should be clean shaven. Actor will make macabre jokes to patrons, and menace them with his razor-fingered glove.

Ghost Bride - Female identifying adult actor. Roller skating skills preferred. Actor will dress in a wedding dress and wear a pretty, neutral mask over a decayed corpse face. She will flirt with male patrons before pulling off her pretty mask to reveal her horrific face beneath. Actor should be able to change voice from a sexy purr to a crone-like zombie. Actor will wear facial appliances which must be glued and blended with makeup nightly.

Hypnotist Assistant - Female identifying adult actor. Will assist Jeffrey Powers in bringing his magic props off and on during the Wednesday night show. Will work as spotter for hypnotized subjects during the show. May also be required to run sound cues from a computer tablet or phone. May also submit as Ghost Bride if desired.

Pay: Halloween Performers will be paid a flat fee of $780 ($60/show) for the run of 13 performances in 4 weekly installments. Actors will be supplied with costumes and makeup but will be responsible for their own makeup application and removal, as well as wardrobe maintenance.

Hypnotist Assistant will be paid $60/show. This event may continue open ended. Hypnotic Assistant will be eligible to assist Jeffrey Powers at other events as well and may be trained as an Understudy Hypnotist. If the show converts to a paid ticket, or Assistant goes on as Hypnotist, pay may increase.

Preshow commitment will require one meeting for a costume fitting in mid to late August, and filming of a brief video for in-house and online promotion. Ghost Bride may require facial life casting session as well to create custom prosthetics, t.b.d.
