Project Title | Ruddigore, or the Witch's Curse |
Description:
Recognized as one of the gems of the Gilbert & Sullivan canon, Ruddigore haunts the stage of the legendary Mandel Hall on the University of Chicago campus this March. Equal parts spectacle and satire, Ruddigore features the duo's topsy-turvy take on the classic British melodrama: kindhearted villains, damsels in distress who would rather be kidnapped than be rescued, and, of course, ghosts!
Auditions for 8 principal parts, 1 comprimario role, and a large chorus are being conducted remotely via video submission until November 3, 2023. Stipends will be provided for both principal and chorus roles. More information, character descriptions, and instructions to submit an audition video will be made available on the GSOC website in mid-October at https://gilbertandsullivanoperacompany.org/audition-information-ruddigore/.
