Description:
Steel Beam Theatre, 111 W Main Street, St Charles IL announces auditions for Bekah Brunstetter's THE CAKE, directed by Artistic Director Marge Uhlarik-Boller. THE CAKE is a touching and topical dramatic comedy about the effect differences in religion, orientation and attitude have on relationships.
Casting for the following roles:
-Della (40s-60s) a baker from North Carolina, pleasant, outgoing, overly dependent on her husband's opinions. Her beliefs are put to the test when her goddaughter asks her to bake a wedding cake for her and her female fiancee.
-Tim (40s-60s) her husband. Sweet, good 'ol boy, loves his wife, conservative, not a rule-breaker. Jen (20s-30s) her goddaughter, loves her godmother but also her fiancee. She's been planning this wedding since she was a child. She is open and sweet.
* Note: The role of Macy has been cast.
Auditions are by appointment only Sunday December 3rd from 6:30-9:00 pm, Monday December 4th from 7:00-10:00 pm with callbacks scheduled for Tuesday December 5th from 7:00-10:00 pm.
