Description:
Oil Lamp Theater is seeking submissions for Mary's Wedding by Stephen Massicotte. Lauren Katz will direct. The production will run May 30-July 14 (with a possible 1 week extension through 7/21/2024) with performances Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings (7:30pm) and matinees on Saturdays and Sundays (3pm).
Synopsis:
When Mary and Charlie, filled with the passion, vulnerability, and impulsiveness of youth, unexpectedly find one another sheltering in a barn during a thunderstorm, a tentative love is born. But the year is 1914, and Mary and Charlie must surrender their love and fate to the uncertainties of their tumultuous times.
Rehearsals will begin Wednesday, April 10 and are typically held from 7:00-10:00pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturdays until tech which begins on Saturday, May 25.
Auditions by appointment only will be held on Monday, December 11 from 7:00-10:00pm at the theater which is located at 1723 Glenview Road, Glenview, IL.
Callbacks are by invitation only and will be held on Tuesday, December 19 beginning at 7:00pm.
We are casting all roles:
Mary - (20s) A young dreamer and a romantic, Mary is also strong and intellectual. She has recently arrived in Canada from England. Actor must be able to demonstrate range-In a dream, the actor also plays Gordon Flowers - Charlie's superior officer and companion.
Charlie - (20s) Brave and determined, but also vulnerable. Works on his father's farm. Becomes a soldier with a Horse Regiment in WWI.
Pay Rate: $1170 Main Cast | $530 Understudies

If you are invited to audition, please prepare a contemporary monologue, not to exceed 90 seconds. Please bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume. Compensation is $1170. This includes a $150 rehearsal stipend and $30 per show performed (34 shows total). Understudy compensation is $530, which includes one guaranteed performance.
